Preparing for Baby E
M seems to be doing well with the idea of having a baby brother. I know she has no clue what to really expect, but I like to think she's as well prepared as we can make her. We got E's bouncer seat about a week ago, and she immediately wanted to put a baby doll in it. So of course we let her, and she was singing "Rock-a-Bye Baby" and playing "This Little Piggy" with it while it was there. It was the sweetest thing!
We've gotten almost everything ready for E.
We still need to get the bassinet I want to use with him, but if he comes early, we do still have M's bassinet.

We've got a bunch of clothes, but I think we need some more in sizes 3 and 6 month. My doctors are saying he'll be about 8 pounds so I'm not expecting newborn clothes to fit for too long! The weather this time of year is also very hard to predict, so I have to make sure we're getting items that can be used flexibly.
I'm trying out the Solly Baby Wrap this time around. I do have that already; I hope he and I both like using it, because it seems like it will work out so well! I've heard it's much cooler than regular carriers (we tried the ErgoBaby with M and it was SOO hot), and it seems so much less bulky since it's a wrap.
We have a chest of drawers I'm currently using for his clothes and diapers. It's actually been in my family since my mom was a baby - it was hers, my aunt's, then several of my cousins, then mine, and now it's going from M's room to E's room! It would be nice to refinish it, but I don't think we're going to have time to do that, at least not before he gets here.
I also want to get a longer low dresser to put the changing pad on for him so I can use that for storing his diapers and maybe basic clothes. I see lots of parents doing that and I just feel like it's a great use of space. The kids' rooms aren't very big, so I need to make the most of the space they do have!
On a positive note, though, the room is painted and the floor is clean! So all we have to do is fill it with his things :). We can't wait to meet him!! <3
